Canon CN-E 18-80 T4.4 Review

I've been using the Canon CN-E 18-80 for live-event, documentary & journalism coverage.
Here are my thoughts on the lens after the past 1.5 years of use:

When the 18-80 and 70-200 Compact Servo's came out, I was unimpressed, but after using them a few times, I changed my opinion. IF only Canon had introduced them with the original C300, they would not have been able to make them fast enough, because guys like me, that had shot on ENG cameras and lenses for years and years and were suddenly being "forced" to shoot with the C300 in situations that still should have been ENG cams/lenses, would have bought them in pairs without a second thought.

The slip-ring/clutch(no hard stops) focus system design isn't really a limitation of or required for auto focus compatibility. The Cine Servo 17-120, 25-250 and 50-1000 are all capable of auto focusing with compatible cameras, like the 300/II, etc.

The review is hilarious - "I hope this has been of assistance to anyone looking to add this lens to their load out."

I'm watching your handheld microphones for eng journalism review.
