Canon 60D & Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Suite

I've spent waaaaaay too much time doing homework and need to start shooting with HD. Has anyone here worked with the 60D/Vegas marriage? Will I need something to convert my files or do they play nicely together? I've gotten pretty facile w/Vegas and a new NLE to purchase/learn will affect my budget.
