Just to give everyone a heads up here. We were log and transferring data from a Sandisk FW800 card Reader onto our raid system. After setting off the log and transfer we decided to do some other tasks on the machine, outwith FCP.
After the Log and Transfer had finished, we noticed that 4 of the clips in the Bin were shorter than the original footage from the CF Card. Luckily we noticed this before we formatted the original CF Card and we could re-capture the clips that were short (on the first import).
We reckon because we were taxing the Raid on doing other tasks, the log and transfer in FCP wasn't happy and for some reason decided not capture 4 of the clips fully even though FCP showed us visually it been transferred.
Lessons learned:
ALWAYS check the length of the clip in the bin to the original clip.
