Cannot open .veg project on home pc

I started editing a project on my home PC I have all the video files on an external hard drive (usb) and I have Vegas 8c on my laptop as well I continued to edit on my laptop while away from my office. When I got back to my office i hooked back up the external hard drive to continue my edit on my office PC I opened the veg file and I get an error message of a corrupt file. If I hook up the drive to my laptop the file opens fine. I tried to save the file to a different name and it still does not open. I'm stumped.

Clean up your temp file of Vegas to make sure that Vegas doesn't try to use tmp files that were saved before the new editing. If that doesn't help, I think you are looking at a real bug here.

Does your external drive come up as a different drive letter on your desktop from what it does on your laptop?
