Cannot open FCP archived .fcarch files

Currently running FCPX v10.6.1 on a 2017 i7 iMac. Trying to open a legacy tape camera based FCP archived file without success. The .fcarch files are stored on a external HD. Get the following error message:

Tape-1.fcarch” could not be opened. Final Cut Pro cannot open files in the “Final Cut Camera Archive” format.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Not saying this is the answer, but sometimes older features, communications break and/or change after many generations of upgrades. (Meaning the modern version of FCP might not even know what it is anymore.)

Can you right-click (hold control) the package and open it up to see what's inside? If there are any recognizable formats you could copy those out of there and transcode accordingly (at least as a last resort).

Did so. Selected Show Package Contents. There were .MOV files that I extracted and was able to import these file into the current version of FCPX. Original files were shot with a Sony PD150 back in 2001. “Archived” the files in FCPX in 2017. NorBro, thanks a lot.
