LOW KEY LIGHTING
In this Scene I used two criscross 1K Fresnels to simulate Candle Light.
I kept my ambiance well below Lens F-stop to create Low Key effect.
Front was the bounce of the white card.

Hey, looks very nice. Almost a bit too much of that rim light, though. The direction doesn't look right, like it's coming from down low when the candles are directly behind them. It's a beautiful image, though.

Hey Josh...

You right... I am aware of that... But you know... who is interested in recreating Reality (?)
Its got to look a bit like Italian Opera (hehe)

i feel the same way, backlights rarely exist , but we create them to highten the cinematic experience. Im all about that stuff, i eat it like cheerios.

Low Key Lighting

Two 1K Fresnells did the rim (Low Angle). Ambiance was the existing level which was underexposed 3 Stops. Also there were diffused 750W Moles to the back sides of them to round them up. Part of the Scene was lit for 360 Steady Move so there were quite a few lights rigged at the ceiling.

I like the one of them sitting by the table better than the one of him holding out the jug/bottle. That one feels more like a screen grab from a theather production, The talent seems too flat lit
