Can you recommend some compressor settings for vhs to dvd?

Hey guys, I transferred all of my families old VHS tapes to my Mac and put them all together in one file. The settings are:

720 x 480
DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, Linear PCM, Timecode
total bitrate - 30,307
File size - 41 gigabyes.

What kind of settings would you guys recommend on the compressor so that I could make this fit on two DVDs(one half on one dvd, the other half on the other).

It's going to be viewed on a big screen LCD(like 50 incher) so what would you guys recommend as the smallest file size yet not sacrificing on the audio/visuals? Thanks.

Have you ever used Compressor? Using Single or Dual Layer DVD's? Based on your general questions it seems you have just over 3 hours of footage. If you do not have custom settings then I recommend 2-Pass VBR "DVD: Best Quality 90 Minutes". Only you know the actual length because you did not tell us. I recommend cooking your own. Compressor is very powerful and then presets should be used as a base level for creating your own recipe.
