Can you detach the handle from the Robin SC? Just apply the head/base

I thought I saw a picture somewhere where it was mounted like a Ronin 2. there’s no way to provide it power via cable from under the base. Requires the grip. What about a base plate where the handle can recess in the center?

I think i have shot with the SC and the handle removed. Used a ptap to Ronin SC cable. Powered form an anton bauer gold mount.


The trick is having a smaller base that can adapt the power. Someone must make one by now. And i know of at least one company that should be releasing one this or next year.
 
I don’t believe the S and SC share a base. They have different alignment. Might be aboe to force it, but could cause some malfunction electronically. So, definitely make sure the base is model specific.
 
S and SC are different. One of my buddies has the SC.

I’ve seen the S detached and mounted without the battery handle. The rubber cover next to the trigger on the front has a USB C connection that you can feed power in on. It’s how you actually charge the battery handle. I presume that’s how they were powering it separated.
