Ive got an AJ-HD1400 deck and I was hoping to use it to import footage into Vegas. Does vegas even support HD capture from DVCPRO-HD tape? Im tired of capturing in avid nitris and having to use their DNx115 MXF codec which vegas doesnt understand (or raylight). I can convert the files to quicktime and then use DVmaker to convert into something Vegas will understand, but it seems thats a lot of converting and I'd hate having to put the clean footage through all of that.
Yes, i could edit in nitris but then i'd have to use protools for the audio. I strongly prefer Vegas and I can easily edit audio in the same timeline. That really says something about the power of Vegas when you think about it.
Any ideas? thanks
