Can u use batteries from another model on a dvx?

I have a pv-gs12 that was my first camera. I have a couple of different batteries for it. When i got my dvx i noticed that the chargers are exactly the same. And when i compared the batteries they mount exactly the same and have the same 7.2v. So i assume that that means i can use my old batteries on my dvx also. I don't see any reason that wouldn't work fine but just wanted to double check.
 
Most of the Panasonic batteries are cross-compatible across the whole camcorder line. Some cameras do use a smaller/incompatible battery, but basically if the battery you're contemplating using will fit on the DVX, then it should work. Any battery that's CGR-D16, CGR-D28, or CGR-D54-compatible should work.
