Can this lens use a wide angle adapter?

You *can* use a wide-angle adapter on that Zeiss prime, but for the same amount of money, you would get MUCH better results with a used Nikon 28mm f/2.8 AI prime ($100ish).

Anytime you add a wide angle adapter to a lens, you introduce light loss, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, flare, and ghosting, not to mention the physical strain on the lens mount.

My advice: Switch lenses... you'll be a lot happier that way.

I do have a nikon 28mm f2 prime, but I love my ziess. I get that it will reduce the stops, I'll try just using the nikon for now.

Light intake aside, a WA adapter is going to make the outer edges of your 50mm f/1.4 shots look like poop, and may also introduce barrel distortion (not quite fisheye, but well on its way). If you have a 28mm f/2 already, use it!
