can the eMac run FCP?

Hi there... Newbie is as newbie asks...

I didn't think that it can but from reading some of the other threads here it looks as though some of you are running FCP with even older macs. I have an eMac here and if I can run FCP with it it will save me alot of cash.

What about the rest of the Studio bundle? I doubt it but I should at least ask. The sales people in the stores around here are dumb asses.

Thanks

yes you can. Depend which version of FCP though...the 3 should work fine. You NEED a additional hard drive though.

A lot of people are running on powerbooks that are slower than recent emacs. I can vouch for FCP and DVDSP being usable (well, up to 4.5... I haven't tried FCP 5/DVDSP 4). It's not even too painfully slow for most things...

Check out the product pages -- it tells you everything you want to know:

Notice that Motion needs the beefiest system because it emphasizes lots of realtime effects. Or you can follow someone's advice and use the old stuff -- unless you need HDV editing, or other similar features, you can certainly get along with older versions. The interface and general workflow are largely the same.
