Can someone make me a 35mm adapter

Well, considering I could use a grip of different lenses, it would vary. I have a 28mm prime, and it's fast, at f2.8. It would be perfect for an adaptor because it lets in a lot of light.

40$

40$....

dude....no offense..but thats like super duper duper cheap for a good 35mm adapter.....i think the cheapest is the G35...which is like $1,000....

man, is it me or you all are confused? If I'm not mistaken I think bikefilm guy is talking about just selling his lense. I think the orginal guy's question was about someone making him a mini35.

Go check out www.micro35.com

or you can ask Policar who is a member here. He might be able to sell you his homemade version. Or if you have a cute older sister, he can work something out.

That's exactly what I was asking, can someone make me a 35mm adapter

Did someone say my name? Anyhow, yeah, I did make a pretty decent super-cheap adapter and I'd definitely sell you one if:

A. I had the time.
B. I was convinced it was "good enough."

I'm not going to have enough time for the next four months (ironically, this is the fault of film studies classes at school). As for "good enough" I'm 90% there. I just need to find a better variety of microcrystalline wax (I'm going to order two or three kinds online soon). The finished thing won't be "production grade" good, but it'll be really good for the sixty dollars it costs me to make, I think.

Anyhow, you can find some stills in this thread:

And here are some pictures of the actual adapter:

Here it is stacked together unevenly and in need of another coat of spraypaint. It's not "crooked" normally, I'm just lazy.

Metal Nikon F mount!

On the left we have F-mount and condenser, in the middle wax focusing screen, on the right, macro and extension tube.

Flipped upside down. Clearly, I need to clean the focusing screen very badly.

Stacked with a 50mm lens.

It works, sort of. (Shot through my dSLR. It actually does work through the dvx.)

More proof of sort-of-working.

Anyhow, I like BlueSpider's idea--sounds like a fair deal to me. Who knows, if I can find cheaper parts maybe I'll make a few of these. Only if I can get better microwax, though.

And a 40 dollar adapter is possible (although pretty darned tough), but I doubt it would have a condenser, good macro, metal mount, or good focusing screen. If you can get a decent adapter with a 28mm lens included for 40 dollars, though, that's an awesome deal. No profit margin there.

Hey Policar, would you mind helping me find some condensers? I've built a mylar adaptor, and it works decently, but I'm clueless as far as condensers go. I might end up buying a wax screen from you too, as the mylar does have some pretty significant light loss.

Let me know, via either e-mail, AIM (tomthemacman999) or PM.

I'd do more experimenting on my own, but I have a film coming up, and school is starting, thus keeping me from spending all my time building things.

are all the 35mm lenses so long do they all need rods to support them? are any of them shorter and with a zoom control on it much like the lens on any betacam or jvc hd100 lens? and do they come with some sort of internal flipping image to show uprite and not upside down?

I don't use rod supports. It's just nice to have them. I've heard of people needing them incase they hit a wall or something. My adapter measures only 5inches in length with lens and is super light. 3inches adapter and a little over 2 for the lens. Are you talking about a prime? Only the letus has proved to have flipping capability. I'm sure people out there will have something shortly.

Whats the differ between prime and zoom? 5 inches does not seem to bad infact thats perfect i may now have to look into getting me one. do you pics of yours car3

Prime means there is no zoom feature on the lens. 50mm means 50mm fixed. Zoom means you can zoom the lens 80mm to 300mm or what ever the zoom capability of the lens.

Problem is when you fix an adaptor at the end of any camcorder, you have to screw the adaptor on. And anything in front of the camcorder, unless its a filter of some sort, is going to be heavy for the camcorder thread to hold. I understand letus and some other can be screwed on, but its always better to have rail support. Beside, it will look more professional. If you just put an adaptor and especially a zoom lens (which can be very long) the whole setup will resemble a weapon or a bazooka.

Dudes.... please... use rails.

it torques the plastic lens moutn of your camera. that thing is only held in place with three small screws. too much stress. too much.

get rails.
