i searched for this topic and couldn't find it so please forgive me if this has been asked?
ok. i'm working with hvx footage in FCP. i export a clip as dvcpro hd quicktime and bring into AE for whatever i'm doing. then i render from AE as dvc pro hd quicktime and take it back into FCP. the footage is darker than when it left FCP even if i do absolutely nothing to it in AE. AE isn't messing with the colors, just the brightness. if i apply the gamma correction plug in fcp i can get it back to what it was and no color shift is evident.
so what is AE doing and how do i stop it?
thanks.
EDIT: just wanted to mention that i am on factory settings in AE with the exception of the 12 frame purge cache trick in the "secret" prefs. no color prefs or anything else...
