Ok I am trying to get a on location recording cart together. I have a 702t, but have some jobs that may use up to 5+ wireless mics. So I was wondering if I were to have my digi003 with me and laptop does protools le have anyway to sync timecode with a Redcam? I am still not sure what wireless system I am going to use so if anyone has advice please let me know. I know I should know the timecode thing but dont have my board with me so not sure. I have never synced with LE so not sure how and if it works. And I will be upgrading to HD soon to match the Redcam quality but need money and have so much gear to get.

I used Protools to record all onset audio and can tell you the problem will be with SMPTE. More specific 23.796, I could not find a Midi/SMPTE interface that syncs to 23.796. The closest device to get all possible timecode rates is
Ambient ALL601 Lanc Logger, which may not be shipping. With that said, I used the old fashion Clap to sync in post and it worked like a champ..

PT can but you need an sync box to get the TC into PT. What I would recommend however is BoomRecorder. It should work with the 003 as an interface and you can just jam TC into one of the audio inputs. Also it is MUCH better suited for production recording than PT. It will generate Sound Reports and let you take notes while recording and give you useful file names. Add pre record buffers and a lot of I/O options and file flexibility. Also the 64 track version will cost less that a good sync box.

While PT doesn't do Sound reports, you can name each region the Shot/Take etc..
So all I had to do between takes, was change the take number, the region would then be named AKGCK-S1-S2-T1-E. (AKG CK mic- Scene1-Shot1-Take1-English). We shot the movie in English and Spanish. When I had more than 1 mic going, I would group the regions together and name the region. Not really a big deal, but once I got the audio into post, the files were already in PT format..
