Can premiere elements 4 do this?

Hi,

I'm a newbie here so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm authoring an instructional jazz guitar video. There are a few things that I want to be able to do and I'm wondering if Premiere Elements can do them. As an FYI, I also own Premiere Pro 1.5 but I had some compatibility problems with its ASIO drivers and my (non adobe) audio recording package so it's not currently installed. I could upgrade to Premiere CS3 if necessary but I like the easier interface that elements presents and I'm hoping I can do all this with it...

Anyway, here are my requirements.

- The video will be broken up into about 50 mini lessons. Each lesson needs to be indexed so that the user can go directly to it. I could break the lessons up into several chapters with each lesson being a scene if necessary.

- I would like to have the music onscreen at the bottom. I could either use dark to light gradient at the bottom (with the music being in white) or I could resize the actual video to set above a solid black bar on the bottom of the screen.

Other than those questions, I would think premiere elements 4 could handle this.

If I need to upgrade to premiere cs3, will I need to upgrade to a new version of encore as well or is it now part of premiere cs3?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jaz,

I think the short answer is, 'Yes, depending on which work around you had in mind.'

The work around doesn't have to be heinous either; you just have to plan with the limitations of the program in mind.

Good luck. Let us know how the project goes.
