Am considering getting an HMC150 before the free Neo 2 offer expires, as I have no NLE to handle AVC. Funds would be low after getting the 150, and from what I see here, there still seems to be lots of problems w/CS4, so am hesitant to upgrade yet. (Sometimes need to output time/date stamp for legal, which the HVX doesn't do, and am tired of losing those jobs).
Am still running CS2 w/Cineform's Aspect HD/HDLink on double dual-core AMD Opteron 275's w/2 GB RAM, 1.5 TB internal RAID and nVidia Quadro FX 1500, with 2 TB external storage, all under XP Pro. Also use 2 TB of network storage from a MyBook World edition.
I'll up the RAM to 4GB and am considering display adapter options, but am most suspicious of the CS2 suite and Neo 2 living in harmony on the same machine, or upgrading to CS4 & Win 7 with only 4 GB of RAM. (At this point, I'm not sure that's feasible, if even possible).
I'm not a hardware guru by any means and am starting my research now, looking for input as to the smartest options for editing if/when I get the 150.
Anyone here with experience running (or trying to run) both CS2 and Neo 2 on the same machine?
