Hey guys, total noob here at DVXUser, so if this question is in the wrong place, please move.
Anyways.
I have the Adobe Master Collection CS4 and have just attempted to import and edit some HDV footage. Well, the video stuttered all over the place and the audio played back fine. I have previously been using Premiere 6.0 (yea, about time I upgraded huh?) and I can edit SD stuff with no problem and in fact have produced a number of things with 6.0
I am upgrading all my gear and will be purchasing a HDV camera and want to make sure my system can handle the HD content.
I am running an HP Pavillion a1510n with a AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.4ghz with 3gig of RAM and an NVIDIA FX 5200 with 1 gig dedicated.
Now I tried simply importing via FireWire to an external 7200rpm drive conected via USB 2.0, a set up I have used for years now. With HDV content do I need an eSATA drive or a dedicated capture card? My external drive also has eSATA input, I just don't have the card in my PC to connect to it. cheap and easy enough to install I know.
I would prefer not to buy a whole new computer obviously, so any help is appreciated.
