Can MOTION hold up with AE for simple compositing/animation?

It sits there on my main drive looking cool and sexy like most Apple apps - MOTION.
I´ve used it only once, when it came out until I found out there was an easier way to do good titels - LiveType.

Now we have a new editbay with FCS2 and thus MOTION3.
I was asked to do an all greenscreen shoot with a lot of motion GRFX, simple stuff since it´s an instructional video.
Animated typo spieced up with simple grafics, like most PP presentations these days.

I usually hand stuff like this over to an AE brainiac, but since A LOT of the budget gets eaten by this, I´d like to give MOTION and my rusty animation knowledge a try this time.

My workflow would be:
Edit in FC
Key with Conduit in FC
OR
Key with Conduit in MOTION

Do the GRFX/Typos/Animated Backgrounds in MOTION
Assemble in FC or in MOTION ?

Render to QT reference
Compress with Episode

Any suggestions? How do I get back and forth between MOTION and FC?
What about sound/audio?
Any known "issues" with MOTION?

Thanks for reading through:cheesy:!

Really depends how skilled you are with either. Motion is a lot easier to create detailed titles and motion graphics, AFX is a more powerful compositor. But either could do the other's job reasonably well given the level of skills of the operator.

Thanks Noah!
That really sounds like a "GO!" for MOTION, since my needs are more on the Title/motion graphis side...
