Can I use this as a monitor?

I am selling a very new Sony 21 inch flat screen TV but I'm wondering, can I in any way use it for editing?

I think I read in this forum that TVs don't have the resolution or color correctness of an actual monitor and falls short in some other areas.

You can use it as your preview out until you get an actual monitor. TVs are not ideal, but they are usable, especially if they're that new.

Thanks David. I've got a great 21 inch NEC monitor with my computer but I heard a two monitor set up was a better way to work for editing. I knew the TV was far from ideal but wasn't sure if its not even worth considering. Your info helps.

OOOOOHHHHHHH . . . you mean as a COMPUTER MONITOR. I thought you meant as a PRODUCTION MONITOR, which is why I referenced the "preview out" above.

No, it's not acceptable. A TV can't compete even slightly with a computer monitor. Will not work for you.
