Can I use the Letus Extreme with an HF100?

YES!!!

I have a friend here at school who accidentally dropped his on a set and knocked one of the inner mirrors loose. I told him I might be able to fix it (I really had no idea when I told him that, but I though it would be good experience to open it up and mess around). Anyway, I actually managed to fix it and make it work like new again. In exchange for my help (and keeping his shoot on schedule) I now have access to the adapter whenever I want, for free.

Yes...everything's coming up Milhouse.

Lol, doesnt your friend have rails and what not to prevent the damage in the first place?

But nice to hear you get access to the adapter.

Hope someone drops their lens, so you have some lens to use with the adapter!:)

He sat it on the bumper of a car between shots and it fell off. :crybaby: I don't know why.

i just ordered a letus extreme for my hvx, and ordered an canon hf12.

any idea on where to get a 37mm to 82mm stepdown ring,. b&h only had 37 to 72.

if there's not 37 to 82, could i go 37-72 and 72-82 to work with the hf12? or would that be messing up the distance between the adapter and the lens?

just curious if anyone else is running a small camera on an extreme that is optimized for the hvx?

You can use any adapter on any camcorder if you have step up/down rings and manual focus so you can focus on the image projected on screen. You can have adapter even with some very early analog camcorders.Anything which can focus on screen,so its a matter of size of your camera threading and rings if you want to attach it.

I dont know how it is with letus and zooming but in my adapter when i move back my camcorder from the focusing screen and i change the distance then if i zoom in then i still get quite similar image ,its a matter of focusing when you zoom in ,i dont know if those couple of milimeters from rings will make a huge difference but if there is no 37 to 82 then i would try it with 2 rings.Rings arent that expensive and you bought adapter anyway so...

Yes, if you can't find a single step ring, use multiples. This is what I do to step down from 72mm to 43mm on an Elite.
