Can i use a mini Casio TV to monitor video?

Re: Can i use a mini Casio TV to monitor video?

If it works, go for it. Just be aware that your monitor might show more or less of the frame than what is being captured. Masking tape will take care of showing too much. Also, color will be off. It's very helpful (at least to me) to be able to watch the action as it will be seen as opposed to watching what's happening where the camera can't see.

Sometimes I forget that other people often direct but don't shoot. External monitors are just not something I use.

I remember working on a project as a PA when they used little sony video watchmans. It was so they didn't have to be wired to the camera and could be farther away. It seemed to work - not great picture quality of course. They rented video transmitters plugged into the cameras (which were Betacams)to transmit the signal to the little handheld tvs.
