Can I stick a bogen 503 on this tripod?

I currently have a bogen 3047 3 way pan tilt head

on a set of bogen 3033 sticks. I think the head is removable although I don't know how to remove it.

if I do get it off, can i use a bogen 503 on here?
It would seem so.

There are screws under the mounting plate on the tripod column. Raise the column and use a small screw driver to remove or loosen the 3 or 4 screws under the plate which put pressure on the tripod head. You should then be able to twist the head plate (503) and it will come off. Go to the Bogen site and see if you can find instructions for their tripods if this doesn't make sense.

Word of caution. Make sure your tripod capacity will handle the weight of the 503 and whatever gear you are mounting on it. Specs. are on Manfrotto's site.
