Can I plug an 1200 HMI in wall power?

Hey, guys,

I got this dumb question. First I though I obvioulsy could plug a PAR 1200W in 220V wall power since the load would be less than 6 amps. But then I thought about it, and realized that maybe the magnetic ballast needed more power than that, or might poo poo the wiring.

Is it okay to plug a 1200W HMI to wall power (considreing it's going to be 220V)?

Thanks!

And for that matter, is it okay to plug into a 110V socket (assuming we know the circuit is at or near zero draw before we strike the lamp)? Thanks for asking this taubkin, I've been meaning to do the same.
Peace,

Okay , I wasn't as concert with the breaker, I was more concerned about the cabling. The house has an old 3 phase with 60A fuses. so I'm sure I could plug like ten 1200W... But of course the wall cabling would melt and that would be quite messy.

Thanks Zoostory, I checked with the rental house and they said the same thing.
