Can I mess with the display frequency?

I am noticing horrible streaks on my previews... can I somehow set the preview to come out at a certain frequency to match my monitor's 60Hz

Is that my problem? Is does look like I am seeing the refresh...
 
You mean a shaky rebuild kind of thing. Yes that happens on my system too. I dont think you can do much except go with lower settings of preview.

DirectX and the display card are supposed to work together to prevent tearing. It does work here with my ATI Radeon and Diamond Stealth cards, on the secondary monitor. Can you set the display to 72 Hz ( that is 24 x 3)? Not sure if that will help. Can it be set to 59.94Hz? It might be a question for your display card maker.
