Even though After Effects has blu-ray export options in Media Encoder, I guess you need to pay for Encore to put the separate video/audio files together?
Is this explained somewhere? Burning the project to h.264 Mp4 doesn't play in a blu-ray player. Why is it set up like this?
Is there another option to get the project in full hd to play on a blu-ray/dvd player?
thanks.

Neither After Effects nor Media Encoder is a disc-authoring app. The option is there to export files you will use in other software to make the Blu-ray.

DVD is a combination of encoding the picture and sound, and the authoring of the content to the BD specs. Encore is that authoring environment. Some tools may allow for a single "first play" without authoring and I would suggest doing a Google search for that - Toast on OSX for example. Why not download the 30 day trial of Encore and make the DVD?

Nope no trial version for cs6.
The blu-ray burner authoring software isn't working either with Media Encoder's blu-ray files.
The only other option was Avid studio's blu-ray authoring. It used to work, not anymore and no Avid support.
Seems like its really hard now to make a blu-rays
