Can I hook up an HD-DVD player to my Apple 23" monitor?

So, I've got an HD-DVD player and I've got an Apple 23" HD monitor. What I want to know is, can they get along together? I'm looking at getting this DVI to HDMI adapter, but what I want to know is, will the HD-DVD player actually display on my monitor in 1080p (or i)? Has anybody tried this? If so, did it work? Thanks for any advice guys!

The pixel resolution is 1,920 x 1,200, so the monitor will get you 1920 x 1080 p/i but I don't have personal experience with that monitor. So I can't give you info. on the adapter, ect. I just know that DVI does 1920x1200 so a DVI to HDMI adapter should do the trick.
