Can I get by wit FP express for right now?

[Beaker]

Hi:
I have a question regarding Fianl Cut Express (not the HD version). I am able to insert 24P footage into the program. However, I am not able to use Magic Bullet effects with this program. (1) Am I missing out on quality or resolution using FC experess rather than Pro, and (2) is magic Bullet incompatable with FC express. Thanks!

There is no quality loss with express verses pro. I'm not sure why you cannot use third party plugs with express. I'll hunt around for you.

the main downfall with express, imo, is the limited timecode functionality. stuff like batch capturing, offline/online editing, etc, is limited by the way express deals with timecode.

it would certainly make sense for apple to limit plug-in compatibility too. i don't know for sure, but you can understand it from a marketing standpoint.
