I have a client who will only accept HDV (go figure). I am on the verger for ordering my HVX200 and a Macbook Pro so want to make sure about the capabilities.
I can edit DVCPRO HD and output to a HDV deck in HDV format? This is all doen by FCP6 without any plugins?
You should be able to take the DVCPRO HD sequence and lay it right onto an HDV sequence and then output directly to an HDV deck as long as it can playback in real time.
You could always just transcode it and then output it to the deck.
The HVX 200 won't do it. FCP certainly can. As stated, just do a copy and paste from your locked cut DVCPro sequence into an HDV one. It will require a render of course. But after that you're okay. But you'll need an HDV camera (HVX 200 is not) or HDV VTR to do the output. Unless the client is okay with digital files. Then from the HDV timeline you could easily export a HDV quicktime file for them.
