Can I edit HDV?

Hi.

I've got an HP m7160n Media Center PC. It has the Intel Pentium D processor 820, 1GB of PC-3200 DDR2 SDRAM as well as a 250GB 7200RPM hard drive. It has a 2 x 1MB L2 cache, 2.80GHz dual-core processing speed and an 800MHz front side bus. I have several external (USB) drives for storage of video files.

I also have Vegas Pro 8.0c.

If I max the memory at 4 GB (PC-3200 DDR2) and add an HD monitor, will this system handle editing HDV footage from a Canon HV30?

What do you think?

I really don't think you'll have any trouble.
I'd go so far as to say you won't have any trouble if you just went with 2 gigs of RAM with that setup.

I've cut HDV on computers with far less than you have listed.
That was back in my Premiere dayz but I'm sure Vegas can deal.
