Can I edit H.264 footage in Vegas

I just bought the Aiptek 1080p Action from Walmart for $200. I wanted something I could carry on my belt and goof around with. Got to say that it's not bad, especially for the price.

It records H.264 as a .MOV file. Can I edit this in Vegas?

depends on the codec used by the camera - I was sent video by the company that makes the Flip cam and it played fine on the Vegas timeline.

According to Aiptek, they appear to have the codec (decompresser) portion on the CD that comes with the cam.

pull the video over, slap it on the timeline and let us know. I've got a client looking at some of these for international student docu work.

Why don't you download the trial of Vegas Pro 8, shoot a small clip, try it, and let US know as well, instead of asking US if YOUR camera is supported.

In my experience, I have seen Aiptek footage that worked with vegas, and other Aiptek footage from another camera model that CRASHED vegas. So, I can't know if this model will be fine with Vegas or not. You will have to try it and let *us* know.

One thing that's for sure is that it's going to be really slow to edit that, you will need proxy files.
