Can I create more DOF on the Letus Extreme?

Hi fellow filmmakers.

I have a question that I hope someone will be able to answer for me. I have just recieved the extreme and after using it, not being able to go below f5.6 becomes noticable when shooting outdoors. I was just wondering that if I was shooting in bright conditions and attached some ND filters onto the nikon lens and opened the nikons iris open fully - would this create even more DOF? or is it just the cameras iris that creates the DOF?

Thanks for you help

You mean shorter DOF? You're asking for two contradictory things. Closing down the iris results in longer DOF (e.g the background is more in focus), opening the iris does the opposite. But opening and closing the iris of the camera does nothing because you're just recording the image off the GG. It's all on the taking lens.
