Basically I have completed my first feature length film and I'm ready to send it to the distribution company and with all of the fixes and other things that could not be fixed and I just have to live with, My dumb azz forgot to insert chapter markers. :crybaby: It takes compressor like 16 hours to render this thing. (1:24 run time, 90 minute High Qualiy Encode, shoud it even take that long?) I don't want to do that again if I don't have to.

My question is can I create those markers right in DVDSP without having to go back to FCP? any help would be great.

Yes you can create chapter marks in DVDSP. Just click in the gray area above the top of the time line. Check where the marks end up by using simulate. Its best to put chapter marks in some black such as a dip to color dissolve. Expand the timeline to see where they are and you can fudge them one way of the other if you need to by click and drag with your mouse. Most of the time I create places in my FCP project and then add marks in DVDSP. Everybody's different so its what you like for work flow.

Good Luck!

thanks. So when the DVD gets played and they press the > button it would go to the next "chapter" ? that seems easy. I will give it a try.

So you want to get those chapter markers back as quickly as possible. If this happens to you, go back into Final Cut Pro and export as a quicktime movie. Make sure to import your chapter markers, and choose Video Only. If youre creating the dvd on YOUR computer, uncheck 'Make Movie Self-Contained.' Then import that new video track into DVDSP. You can now replace your unchaptered video track with the more satisfying one.
