Can I boot from an ext drive?

Hi, quick question here. My PC is having hardware issues. I need to get some renders done though. So I was thinking of taking out my hard drive and putting it in an external enclosure, then plug it into my roommate's laptop. But will WinXP boot from my ext drive?

I guess if not, I can just install Premiere on the laptop. Just curious.

It depends on your BIOS more than your OS.

Boot and go into setup before Windows starts and see if there's a setting to boot off of USB or whatever the ext drive is.
