Can GH1 AVCHD, 720p 50p .mts files be imports straight into FCP?

I've got some .mts files I want to test in FCP, can they be imported straight into FCP? They aren't in the folder found on the camera SD card, with additional files surrounding them. I.e a route outside of log and transfer.

Otherwise, what's the best route to get them in?

Not going to be loadable into FCP at .mts. You'd need to convert them to MOV first. Hopefully there's some sort of transfer program that came with the camera?

The clips are ones I've downloaded from other users. (Camera is not released properly yet) so don't have a transfer program. Jon
 
Yeah I'm guessing you'll have to wait or do some google searches for MTS conversion.
