Can Final Cut Pro X Export Using Square Pixels?

I am working with a FCPX editor who is creating title animations for a corporate training project and have run into a bit of a snag...

I am exporting the finished project using Sony Vegas Pro as 854x480 using square pixels ( this will be used both for computer based MPEG-4 files and for Widescreen DVD discs ), but so far we haven't found a way to export using this display size from FCPX using square pixels. ( non-square pixels create unusable results )

Is there a way to do this from FCPX ?

Two things to fix this:
1) Make sure that your Timeline is in the resolution/rate that you want to deliver to. FCPX will adjust your original footage to fit your needed output.
2) If you make a custom setting in Compressor, and use that setting in the Share Menu, you should be able to guarantee the resolution/rate that you need.

Coming from Sony Vegas Pro on the PC, I was a bit surprised that FCPX doesn't let you dial in any Timeline size using any pixel ratio you like. I had assumed that most NLEs would give you this freedom. I know that FCPX is a work in progress, so I'm hoping that things become less restrictive with future versions.

FYI: Sony is porting Vegas Pro to the Mac but nobody is talking about release dates. ( last year's Sony Sound Forge for the Mac was a complete surprise )
