Can FCP tell me the frequency of the hum?

I often have hums in my audio that I remove using the hum remove filter but every time the hum has another frequency, usually 50Hz or 100 or 150 or 200, so I use different frequencies in the hun filter settings untill the hum is gone.

Is there a way to make FCP tell me what frequency the hum has? This would save me a lot of time.

Thanks.

Yeah, the newest version of Soundtrack Pro has a frequency tool (button) that shows the frequencies. If there is a constant hum, you highlight it then click delete and it disappears.

Thanks guys. I must honestly admit that I never opened Soundtrack Pro because I still have so much to discover in FCP, I will try out your suggestions.

If it's in Europe, the most likely frequency of a hum is 50Hz, and multiples thereof, 100Hz, 200Hz... etc.

What I do to locate a hum is crank the gain up on a notch filter, or parametric EQ with the "Q" set high, (narrow width) then move the frequency around till you find the hum where it gets much louder and adjust to negative gain till your hearts content.
