Can Edited Sony Vegas Footage be Transferred To Pinnacle

I have been using Pinnacle Studios 14 and decided to upgrade
my editing software to Vegas 10. After working in Vegas I realized that I could
make raw basic edits much quicker and more comfortably in Pinnacle Studio.

My question is, can you transfer footage from Vegas to
Pinnacle software? I saved the file and tried several tricks, but Pinnacle will
not recognize it. Can someone please tell me if there is a code or something on
these programs from preventing me from using different software?

You can't open a VEG file in Pinnacle, no. But you can you use the footage you captured in Vegas in Studio.

But my suggestion would be to uninstall Studio and just get up to speed with Vegas. It really isn't any harder than Studio; it's just different, and you need to rid yourself of the crutch if you want to use Vegas as your main editor.

Thank you for your response, however I have continued to do my own research on my question and have found that you can indeed cross edit on different editing softwares made by different company's.

I have acheived this by saving the final edit as a "mov" file (quicktime) and uploaded the footage into the desired editing program.

I agree that normally this would be an unneeded added hassel, but I have a project that already started life in Pinnacle and then switched to vegas (due to Pinnacle's limitations) and will be finished in After Effects, which will be completed by a friend to create more advanced Special effects.

I'm not saying this is the smartest wasy to go about this and it wasn't a planned choice, but it is possible if someone else finds themself in a similar situation.

Okay, here's the deal with the footage...

Last year I decided to take a stab at making my first ever short film, an
overly ambitious one at that. I wrote a script and got a cast together. I
expected the thirty page script to take me about two or three weeks to film,
but because of my actor’s limited availabilities, the entire shoot took over
six months to complete. In that time I used four different cameras. A Canon
Xl1s, Sony DSRPD170, DVX100a, DVX100b. I used four different cameras because I
wasn't happy with Xl1s, the camera the project started on. I ended up having to
rent the DSR and DVX100a, while waiting for my DVX100b.

I'm not sure if your question was referring to potential codeac issues
during editing? But, like I said I have a guy who will be doing special effects
on the feature using After Effects here soon. The intention of this short film
is for it to be a film festival piece, and to be something that all
parties involved could use as a resume builder of sorts.

You've probably figured it out yourself by now, but just in case....
You are shooting standard definition DV footage. On Windows this is downloaded/captured in an .avi wrapper. The footage is lightly (around 7:1) compressed. You can open this in Pinnacle or Vegas. You can't open a Pinnacle project in Vegas or vice-versa but you can open rendered/created footage, which appears to be what you have been doing. You appear to have been rendering .mov files. There's no need to do that. If you must switch between Pinnacle and Vegas, render intermediate edits as uncompressed .avi. Avoid renders to any compressed format as much as possible. You are much better off just dropping Pinnacle and not rendering (in Vegas) until you have a final.
