Can all this fit in a Pelican 1520?

I recently got a DVX100A and now I want to buy a case. I've been looking at the Pelican 1520 after reading a lot of threads here. But without actually having the case in front of me, it's hard to visualize what I could fit inside it. Maybe others who have the 1520 can help me out.

I'd want to carry my DVX100A obviously, two batteries, battery charger, AT897 shotgun mic, some XLR cable, 2-4 tapes, wide angle lens, UV/polarizer filter, and a full-sized circus clown.

Okay, minus the last one. So would that fit, you think, or would I have to move up to the 1550 or 1600?

I've also been looking at another case because someone on this forum said it was good, an 'extreme pro case' on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=83861&item=7510532003) which is similar in dimenions but about $40 cheaper.

I have one size bigger the 1600 and have no problem fitting all that plus my old little back up cam, so I don't think you should have a problem w/your list of gear! I'll post a pic later.

I have the 1550 and keep my DVX w/ Chrosziel mattebox and follow focus (which takes up plenty of room,) a case of (5) tapes, focus whip, 4 batteries and 2 filter frames.

You should be fine, though I'm a bit sketchy about the XLR, and why put the mic in there? It comes with it's own cool case! If you leave the audio stuff out of there I'm positive you'll be fine.

and perhaps the kitchen sink..

I went through the same issue and because the local dealer was just a regular photo store had neither model. I went with a couple of 1600s. As you can see in this photo link, ( http://24.71.76.197/mentor/pelican1600s.jpg ) there is enough room for both cameras and original accessories to fit in one case. However, there are still matte boxes, follow focus etc. still to come and won't take long to fill to my usual pack rat capacity!

Cheers

pelican is the way to go. You dont have to worry about being caught out in the rain cause its water proof.

Keep in mind with the larger cases you won't be able to use them as carry on bags for airplane travel.

You should be able to get it all in but you likely won't be able to get a matte box. (depends on how compact it is.)

Depends on the size of the pelican!
Seriously,---have some "UK" brand protective cases.
Similar to "Pelican",---but about half the cost.
Can't find their website though.
Worth a look.

Yeah, the AT897 has its own case. But it's just another thing to carry around! I figure it would be more convenient to just throw it in with the camera in one case.

Actually, you have two sizes bigger. The one I'm looking at is the 1520.
