Can After Effects copy and paste?

Instead of having to do something time consuming like rotoscoping, would I be able to copy and paste a peace of wall, over another peace of wall, that is basically the same wall, but with some shadow on it? Just curious, cause that would save lot of time, in shots, when actors don't even interact with the wall and I just want to change the shadow.
 
My copy of CS5.5 has the clone stamp tool. If you've used it in photoshop, it's the exact same thing, but for video. Does that answer your question?
 
I think your referring to the clone stamp tool. Recent versions of After Effects have this.
 
Okay cool, I could not find this on any video co-pilot tutorials, but perhaps I missed that one. Where can I find that tool in 5.5? Thanks.
