Thirty seven words. Id like to know how much did he got for each one of them. I´m fine with it, though. What I don´t like is tying the film to a tv or blu-ray for a couple of years. That will limit the film sales strongly, so the compensation had better be good.
HD on the consumer side (specially in Spain or even in Slovakia where I live now) is a huge rip off. Pay for the equipment, pay for the channels, pay a high markup for films, pay for events. I´m glad vimeo, youtube and some places have HD for free to watch and I can´t wait to 4k so HD gets affordable. rogar-Happy(DBG):
James Cameron has been a Panasonic fan for a while. He bought one of the first HVX200s back in 2005, and there are pics of him actually using it on the set of Avatar (I doubt it was for footage that made it in the movie, maybe it was for pre-vis or something, I don't know). Panasonic has bet heavily on 3D, and Cameron is really the biggest 3D proponent and the only guy who's really made 3D a big thing, so it seems like a natural fit for both of them. I don't have any idea if Cameron is endorsing the Panasonic 3D technology altruistically or if it's a paid endorsement or whatever. I have seen TV commercials from Panasonic that promote Cameron and Avatar. Maybe he's their Vincent Laforet?
