Camera Trick? Editing Trick? Spike Jonze!

Recently i watch "being john malkovich" a very interesting movie which charlie kaufman did a great job writing and i feel spike did great work directing this weird movie...

There was a scene where Cameron Diaz is chasing Maxine through Malkovich's subconcious. Each time they change rooms the camera turns a 90degrees. im not sure if this is an Editing or Camera trick or just good continuity.. but if anyone knows how this is done could you please tell me?

It also occurs in another spike jonze ad "Adidas Hello Tomorrow"

Yeah Thanks, that shows me a better possible idea of how its done.. i was looking at more of a way for the actor to go from one room to another turning instead of the room itself turning but i guess that could be basically the same thing..
Thanks alot tho any more methods?

I cant remmember the scene from being JM (time to pull out the dvd) but the adidas commercial is wirework, not rotating room.

Very cool effect and the picts on www.phillipbarker.com so a nice job explaining how it was done.

So basically you either build a room inside a giant wheel or use wires?

Does anyone have any other inexpensive suggestions that the average indie could pull off?

So the camera position is permanently affixed right? so as the room rotates, the camera rotates and all the seemingly changes is the direction of gravity
our perspective stays the same
