Hi, I am going to be filming quite a few weddings very soon, and I was just wondering what is the best accessory to hook my DVX up to so that I can stand up and film for hours without having my arm give up on me. I filmed a wedding a week ago and my arm and hand were just killing me after 20 minutes of filming (the camera is heavy man!).

I have been looking at shoulder support, but does that help a lot? What is the best support within reasonable price?

You mean like a tripod ??? I've never shot a wedding, but I would have a normal tripod set up for the actual wedding. Then I would use a monopod for the after party when you just want to walk around and film various stuff.

I use monopod 95% over tripod. Its just more flexible. And im also managed to walk with the monopod to give me a poor mans steadycam. (Just hold one hand so far down as possible and it will get more steady)

Well, i was thinking more of a shoulder mount or something, wouldn't that work better because you can easily move around?

Then check out the DV Caddie. I think its a little over 200 US. I believe that's what it's called anyway.

Isnt that for bigger shoulder mounted cameras, or is it for the DVX as well?

If it works for bigger cameras I don't know why it wouldn't work for the DVX. I was going to buy it at one point from EVS and Rush didn't say anything about it. I switched to the DVRigPro though. I'm pretty sure it will work with the DVX, but wait for someone else to verify that.

$599.95 for the DVrig Pro...I just got one last month on the special that was offered to readers of this site. You should be able to stand and move around and do whatever it is you need to do with the DVrig Pro.

Another thing you can do is obviously use a TRIPOD but if your going to be mobile try propping yourself up against a wall or something for stability or place the camera down on something for a clean shot.

Ptpiz, the Dvrigpro has been our top seller for the DVX, with not a single return ever. ;D Apparently, people have been happy with it. The thing it does for you is give you a lot of support and mobility for all-day usage. DVcaddie works well too. I used it for all my handheld shots in France, and I got really good at it. It was very light in my backpack, easy to break out and use. I use the DVrig for lots of shoots over here in the States where I need support for extended periods of time.
