Camera Stabilization.

Hola,

I have a canon HV20, I love it so far. And as many of you know I have been talking about shooting a film this summer. Well we are now looking into camera stabilizers. Should we go with the glidecam, I've seen footage and I am loving it. Or something like a spider brace. http://www.spiderbrace.com/

I haven't seen much footage from the spiderbrace but it better fits our budget. I don't have the money to hire a steady cam, and being 5 hours from NYC I don't think there is anyone in the local area.

Thanks for the help.

they don't do the same thing. the brace is for support. it will help you hold the camera steady and ease arm fatigue. the glidecam helps you take smooth footage while moving.

A Spider brace isn't a stabilization device. Its purpose is simply to reduce strain on your hand in prolong operation. Won't stabilized the camera at all.

Ooh, well then.

I feel smart. Thanks for the quick response. Looks like a glidecam is the way to go. Anyone have one of those for sale?
