camera shoulder rest

I second the cb-105. Its really good. Make sure you get the addon extra weight if you plan to use your hvx with accesories.

I considered the dvrigpro as well but I didn't want to deal with belts, rods, etc. I'm not knocking it cuz I've heard good things, but it wasn't for me at the time.

The CB-105 works like a Betacam in the sense that it's got evenly distributed weight and just drops right onto the shoulder.

Has anyone tried the DVRig Pro HD? Allan Gordon ENTERPRISES says the DVRig Pro has been replaced by the DVRig Pro HD

There is definitely a difference in price here. Aside from not distributing all of the weight to just my shoulder, what other benefits are there to going with the dvrigpro over the CB-105?

Last I heard the DVRig Pro was not being replaced by the DVrig Pro HD. Rather, they will both be available. The HD (heavy duty) was designed as a solution for those who want to shoot handheld with their front heavy 35mm adapters. They are are almost the same, with the major difference being that the HD has more options for counterbalancing the camera.

For another shoulder mounted solution, check out the zacuto shoulder pad and q-release http://store.zacuto.com/product.php?productid=71&cat=0&page=1 Its kinda pricey, as is all things zacuto, but they are top notch. And if you have the dough, you can outfit it with a universal baseplate, counterbalance, and z-grips.
