Camera setting with shooting

So I'm going to be making my first professional short next weekend - I've done other shorts with the DVX-100B but it did not give off that professional feel I want this one to have. It will be shot in one location, out doors, and to my optimism a sunny a day.

I will be using the DVX100b and I'm in the midst of buying a 0.6 wide angle lens. My concern is about camera settings. In my previous projects I shot with 16 x 9 in the menu settings. In the past I have witnessed some interlacing issues even when rendering it with de-interlacing filters etc.. etc...

What are some good camera settings that will achieve a good professional look without getting into filters or lenses. I would love to shoot with 16x9 ( I know it's not true wide screen) but if anyone can persuade me to shoot on 4:3 I will be open for the change.

Thanks
