I decided to write an in-depth article which will hopefully serve those who need to brush up, or a quick crash course on the process of keeping a camera report.
I want to post here, at DVXuser, as I have at cinematography.com and would like those of you to read what I have written and perhaps inform me of any mistakes I have made, or even add informative bits I may have left out.
For the rest of you, I simply offer a very long article about my least favorite part of the camera department. (I've always thought the 2nd AC has been more of a liaison between the production office and the camera department versus a member of the camera department.) Take whatever you would like away from the article, but be sure to tell me what you thought.
At the end of my paper, I decide to create what my ideal camera report would be. Feel free to use it if you ever need a camera report.
Last of all, keep your ear to the Cinematography area here at DVXuser, I'll drop more of my writings off (probably one per week?) for reading and hopefully helpful editing. I am currently writing two... the upcoming one is tips for shooting in black & white, and the next about focusing (mainly written for the 1st AC on larger productions, not the one man band camera crew.)
Thanks, and please give some feedback.
