Camera or Adapter Noise

Hey. I've been shooting most of my stuff with an adapter and although I love the effects that the adapter can give I'm almost always shocked how grainy/noisy my footage looks when I get it on the computer. I always say, "Alright next time I shoot I'm going to have lots more light so I don't get that nasty noise in there."

Well after a few more shoots I'm still noticing the effect. I believe It's coming from my ground glass and theres little I can do about it but I'm hoping I might have a camera setting wrong and can reduce the effect some. Please offer any information as I'm getting pretty frustrated with this. I'm shooting with the HVX200a and the SGBlade 35mm adapter. I've seen some awesome footage shot with this exact setup and think mine could stand to be a bit better.

The first pictures are the really noisy shots and I'll post one or two at the bottom without the adapter so you can see the comparison.

Shoot the exact same shot and exposure with and without the adapter. until you do that you won't know a damn thing. Don't know the HVX200a but the 200 was very noisy and at its worst underexposed with blue light like your first few shots.

Try "Neat Video" to remove noise - its amazing but very slow and processor intense - maybe too much for a feature.
