camera mask and shutter trick

hey guys,
just wondering if anyone knew where to get a really good camera mask, as if your looking through a camera like a big nikons POV. and then how to make it look like the shutter went off. Its sposed to be a shot of a guy creepin on a girl, with a camera, and hes taking pictures of her. just wondering how to achieve that effect. Hes holding a Canon EOS 650 and Im shooting the scene with a DVX100b

Well, in Photoshop you can create an overlay with the camera "crosshair" and whatever else you would see when looking through a still camera viewfinder. Then import that layer into Premiere and superimpose over your footage. Even the Titler can be used but there's not a lot of customization tools in that. As for the shutter the standard "shutterspeed sound and image freezing" works very well.

word, alright thanks guys. Ill just do it in photoshop then. sucks about that plugin not being available, that would have been so clutch

well, i got the adobe cs4 master collection, and im realizing, all i know how to use is premiere and after effects, i have no clue how to use photoshop what so ever. so i guess thats out.

Don't forget you'll also have to make the video have that DOF flat look that a still camera produces. Can't just super crosshairs and leave it at that, the idea won't sell.

Some DSLR's have a video output, that would be worth recording to get the actual look and feel.

Instead of motion video, what about shooting a rapid series of stills as your stalker approaches the victim, then you can have a rapid series of pictures and shutter sounds, would be somewhat dramatic.

I don't think you'll want motion video to simulate a still camera, people don't associate moving images and still cameras.. they'll get confused.
