Camera Connection Help

When I connect my panasonic (ag-DVC30p) to my computer, and open FCP, it does not establish a connection with the camera. For example, my computer won't recognize the firewire cable. And I've tried connecting it with a brand new cable but it still doesnt recognize it. I'm unable to log and capture now :( What is going on! and what do I do?
 
That happened to me, i hated it. I sent it in for repair, and it did it again! so i sent it in a third time and it finalyl works. now, 2/10 times FCP still wont't recognize it. I have to sometimes unplug my cable, put it back in, and then it will recognize it.

NEVER plug the firewire in while your camera is on. Turn your camera off, plug it in, THEN turn it on

Have you tried unplugging it, restarting final cut and doing it again? IS your camera under warranty?

-Get your camera serviced
-buy a Tape Deck, (meant for cpaturing, but expensive)

Not under warranty unfortunately. Seems like the only solution is to pump out some money. But thank you so much for your advice!
